Dr. B. Jagannath Kamath Memorial Oration, Hand CME and PG Quiz on Hand Surgery, 13 September 2026.
The Dr. B. Jagannath Kamath Memorial Oration, Hand CME and Postgraduate Quiz on Hand Surgery was held on Sunday, 13 September 2026, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, in Lecture Hall 1, Tower 2, KMC Hospital, Attavar, Mangalore. The programme was presented jointly by the Canara Orthopaedic Society and the Department of Orthopaedics, KMC Mangalore, under the aegis of the Karnataka Orthopaedic Association. It was organised by his family and the faculty of the Department of Orthopaedics.
The day combined talks on hand surgery by invited faculty, a quiz competition for orthopaedic postgraduates, and a hands-on workshop on scaphoid and distal radius fixation. Brochure (PDF)
Oration
The oration was given by Dr. Mukund R. Thatte, Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Bombay Hospital, Mumbai, and Executive Trustee of the Association of Plastic Surgeons of India Trust. He is a past president of the Indian Society for Surgery of the Hand and the Indian Society of Peripheral Nerve Injury (2022), the Association of Plastic Surgeons of India (2010), the Brachial Plexus Surgery Group of India (2009–11) and the Indian Society of Cleft Lip, Palate and Craniofacial Anomalies (2005–06). He was felicitated after the oration.
